Sign in and choose your scope

Everything else you do as an administrator starts here: sign in to the admin console and settle the scope you are working in. Scope is what the console uses to decide which Organization your actions apply to and which tools to show you.

Before you start

You need an admin role: either organization admin (you administer one or more specific Organizations) or platform admin (you have platform-wide authority). A valid sign-in with neither role reaches an Access denied screen — the session is fine, it simply carries no admin grant. If that happens, ask a platform administrator to grant you a role.

Sign in

1. Open the admin console and choose Sign in. The sign-in screen asks for your Email and Password — use your staff credentials.

2. If you were invited and have not set a password yet, follow the link in your invitation email instead: it takes you to a Set a new password screen. Choose a password, confirm it, and you are signed in.

3. Forgotten your password? Choose Reset password, enter your staff email, and follow the reset link that arrives by email.

You know it worked when the console header shows the Admin Console title with a Sign out control, and the page below shows a scope summary card followed by a stack of tool panels.

Choose your Organization scope

The card at the top of the dashboard tells you the scope your account carries. What you see depends on how many Organizations you administer.

1. Platform scope. If your account has platform-wide authority, the card reads “You have platform-wide administrative authority.” You can act across every Organization and, where a tool needs one, enter an Organization directly.

2. A single Organization. If you administer exactly one Organization, the card names it and you are already scoped to it — there is nothing to choose.

3. Several Organizations. If you administer more than one, the card asks you to “Choose the organization scope you want to operate in.” Pick one from the Active organization list before using any Organization-scoped tool. The card then confirms your selection.

Caution

Organization-scoped panels — inviting people, the Organization image, the issuer profile — stay inactive until an Organization is selected. If a panel shows “Select an organization…”, set the active Organization first.

Finding your way around

The admin console is a single dashboard page, not a set of separate screens. Each capability is a panel; scroll down to reach them. Platform administrators see additional platform-wide panels below the Organization-scoped ones.

Two controls in the header are worth knowing:

• Sign out ends your session on this device.
• Forget this device removes the data the console stored locally for offline use and signs you out. Your account and its data on the server and your other devices are untouched; you simply re-sync at your next sign-in.
